Due to the surge of COVID 19, World Osteoporosis Day was suspended in 2020 unfortunately. HKOF World Osteoporosis Day (WOD) 2021 was back!

WOD 2021, organized by Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation, was successfully held on 10 October 2021. Thanks for the help of supporting organizations, Lions Club of Hong Kong Shouson Hill, we provided bone health education, prescreening assessments and gift packs to over 550 elderlies from various charity organizations. The event was held at Tsim Sha Tsui Community Hall with blessing of good weather after the challenge of Typhoon 8 on previous day

It is our honor to invite a number of notable guests to join the opening ceremony, including Professor Sophia Chan Siu-chee, JP, Secretary for Food and Health, Dr. Edward Leung, President of Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation and Ms Amy Lai, District Director of Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao, China. The event kicked off with health talks and physiotherapy exercises. Participants underwent an array of fall risk preliminary assessments under the supervision of our clinic physiotherapist and occupational therapist. 69 elderlies with high risk were then referred to follow up by the CUHK Jockey Club Elderly Hip Fracture Prevention Programme. All participants enjoyed the event and positive feedback was received!

Thank all participating parties and the sponsor of Amgen HK, Menarini and Abbott.

We hope to see you next year! Stay tuned!
